Project summary

PolliConnect aims to boost the biodiversity of wild pollinators by improving grasslands and wetlands flower strips management, connecting habitats, and promoting best-practices among diverse stakeholders.

Currently, pollinator populations are suffering a sharp decline in the NWE region due to habitat fragmentation, soil changes and agricultural intensification. There has also been an under-utilisation of potential ecological corridors due to a lack of knowledge on the part of local authorities and poor acceptance of new practices on the part of farmers.

To fill this gap, Polliconnect will experiment with and expand new management techniques and a landscape approach to promote ecological management, but also to provide transnational control and collaboration using innovative technologies to increase the average number of pollinator indicators by 20%.
